Frequently Asked Questions

This may be your first time planning an event. While every event is unique, it can be helpful to consider some topics that come up for us often. Here are a few common questions asked by our clients.

Do you prepare and cook the food at the event or at your catering kitchen?

Some of both. Depending on the menu you choose and the location of your event, we may do all or most of the cooking at our catering kitchen and transport the food hot in insulated containers, or we may prepare portions of the meal fresh onsite. We will determine those details with you throughout the event planning process.

Do you require access to a commercial kitchen at the event site?

No. If your venue or event location does not have a kitchen, that’s completely fine. We provide all of our own catering equipment, including portable ovens and stoves, allowing us to prepare a fresh and delicious meal in almost any location. We simply require a level working area near the dining space, along with access to electricity and running water.

When do you need the final guest count?

For all full-service events, we require the final guest count 14 days prior to your event date. After that point, guest counts may increase, but they cannot be reduced.

Are there fees in addition to the menu price?

Yes. All pricing is customized based on your selected menu and event needs. In addition to menu pricing, sales tax and a service charge apply to full-service contracts.

What does the service charge include?

Our service charge includes:

  • Staffing required to execute your event

  • In-office event coordination

  • Required liability insurance

  • Service equipment including chafing dishes, pans, serving utensils, trays, and bowls

  • Thermal-controlled transportation equipment such as coolers, ice, and Cambro hot boxes

Is gratuity included?

No. We do not automatically add gratuity to our invoices. Gratuities for the service staff are optional, appreciated, but never expected.

How far will you travel?

We regularly serve Sacramento and surrounding areas including Roseville, Folsom, Granite Bay, Loomis, Newcastle, and many more. Distance charges may apply for events located more than 40 miles from Sacramento.

Do you offer children’s meal options?

Yes. We offer a children’s menu that includes chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and fresh seasonal fruit, or children ages 10 and under may receive 50% off the adult menu price. Guests ages 11 and older are counted as adults. Final counts for children’s meals are due 14 days prior to the event.

Will you provide meals for event vendors?

Absolutely. We offer discounted vendor meals for photographers, DJs, planners, and other event professionals. Final vendor meal counts are due 14 days prior to the event.

Can I substitute items or change menu combinations?

Yes. Our menus are designed as popular combinations and starting points only. We are happy to assist you with creating menu combinations that best suit your event and preferences.

Do you offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergen-friendly options?

Yes. We offer a variety of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-conscious menu options. We simply need you to let us know prior to your event how many guests require dietary accommodations, and we will work with you to create suitable alternatives.

Can you arrange rentals?

Yes. Many of our full-service packages include our own collection of basic china, flatware, and glassware. We also partner with Creative Coverings for linen rentals. If you would like specialty rentals, you are welcome to work with a local rental company, and we can assist with event-day setup and handling.

Do you offer tastings?

Absolutely. Once the proposal process is complete and you are ready to move forward, we offer a complimentary private tasting for up to two guests.

Our initial tasting includes a Chef’s choice selection featuring popular menu pairings ideal for undecided clients.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit or a $1,500 minimum deposit is generally required to secure your event date. Flexible payment arrangements may be available for large events or bookings made 12+ months in advance. We are also happy to work with clients on short-notice bookings.

How far in advance should I book?

As soon as possible. Advanced planning is always encouraged, but we will do our best to accommodate last-minute events whenever availability allows.

How can I book my event?

We are happy to discuss your event by phone, email, or in person — whichever is most convenient for you. In-office consultations are available by appointment and may be scheduled via phone or email.
